"Preserving History: The Skylight Renovation at The General Society Library, NYC"

Writer's picture: Elizabeth LeidelElizabeth Leidel

The 2nd oldest library in NYC is in the General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen of the City of New York's headquarters. The library recently celebrated it's 204 anniversary. Easton Architects, a NYC architectural firm specializing in historic preservation, was tapped to restore the library's stunning skylight.

I was hired to photograph their work. The following are images of the library's interior and the top of the skylight.
